Lili Cohen, DO
Family Medicine Physician
Education & Training
Dr. Lili Cohen, DO, is a board-certified family medicine physician who is thrilled to join the SparksMD family. Originally from the suburbs of Chicago, Dr. Cohen developed a fascination with the human body and medicine through her years as a competitive figure skater.
She later traded snow for sunshine when she moved to Gainesville, Florida, to earn her Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science from the University of Florida. She went on to attend Campbell University School of Osteopathic Medicine in Lillington, North Carolina, where she discovered her passion for primary care and whole-person medicine.
Dr. Cohen completed her Family Medicine Residency at St. Vincent's Medical Center in Jacksonville, Florida — where Dr. Sparks also trained.
Clinical Interests
Dr. Cohen has particular interests in women's health, musculoskeletal conditions, lifestyle and preventive medicine, and osteopathic manipulative treatment (OMT).
Direct Primary Care Philosophy
Dr. Cohen was especially drawn to the Direct Primary Care model because it allows physicians to prioritize meaningful relationships, quality care, and time with patients, while also improving access for individuals and families who may not have traditional medical insurance.
Outside the Clinic
Outside of medicine, Dr. Cohen is a wife and mother of two. She enjoys spending time with her family, cheering on the Gators, Sunday lunches with friends after church, working on a good puzzle, and cozy movie nights with a big bowl of ice cream.
Now Welcoming New Patients!
Dr. Lili Cohen, DO, will begin seeing patients at SparksMD Family Medicine this summer and is currently welcoming new patients through an early access waitlist. Patients who reserve their spot now will have their enrollment fee waived, and membership billing will not begin until care officially starts.
Limited availability as Dr. Cohen begins building her initial patient panel at SparksMD Family Medicine.
Michael Sparks, MD

Education and Training
Dr. Michael Sparks, MD, is a board-certified family physician providing relationship-centered primary care through the Direct Primary Care model at SparksMD Family Medicine in Sanford, Florida. A native Floridian, Dr. Sparks grew up in the Tampa area before moving to Orlando to attend the University of Central Florida, where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Biology with a minor in Health Sciences.
He later attended Ross University School of Medicine, graduating with high honors before completing his Family Medicine Residency at St. Vincent's Medical Center in Jacksonville, Florida. During residency, he served as Chief Resident and developed a strong interest in point-of-care ultrasound and musculoskeletal medicine.
Direct Primary Care Philosophy
Passionate about delivering personalized and accessible healthcare, Dr. Sparks embraced the Direct Primary Care (DPC) model early in his career. By removing many of the barriers created by traditional insurance-based medicine, he is able to focus on building meaningful physician–patient relationships, improving continuity of care, and providing patients with more time and direct access to their physician.
Clinical Interests
Dr. Sparks has particular interests in preventive medicine, chronic disease management, musculoskeletal care, metabolic health, and point-of-care ultrasound. Through SparksMD Family Medicine, he works to provide comprehensive family medicine for patients across every stage of life.
Teaching & Leadership
In addition to patient care, Dr. Sparks is passionate about medical education. He regularly teaches pre-medical students, medical students, and family medicine residents, and currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Family Medicine for the University of Central Florida College of Medicine.
Outside the Clinic
Outside of medicine, Dr. Sparks enjoys spending time with his wife, daughters, and dogs. You'll often find him running, watching soccer and hockey, or enjoying time with family and friends.
